These resources are for Manatee County residents who are facing financial challenges or are otherwise seeking additional assistance. This page will be updated frequently to provide you with accurate resources from official sources.

Manatee County CARES Act Assistance

The Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERA) provides funds to renters in Manatee County and its municipalities who are delinquent on rent and in need of rental payment assistance due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. To be eligible for this grant, a resident must meet the guidelines and file an application through the online portal. This program is currently open and accepting applications and will remain open until funds are committed.

The Mortgage Assistance Program (MAP) provides assistance to homeowners behind on mortgages due to the pandemic. Applications are not currently being accepted for this program.

IRS Information for Individuals

The IRS and the Treasury Department have started the process of delivering a second round of Economic Impact Statements to eligible individuals. These payments are automatic and there is no action required by eligible individuals to receive the second payment. Please read the IRS press release for more detailed information.

COVID-19 Funeral Assistance

FEMA will provide financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred after January 20, 2020. For eligibility and application information, visit the FEMA website.

Florida Reemployment Assistance Program

The Reemployment Assistance Program provides state unemployment benefits for Floridians and also administers any additional federal funding assistance. To receive either benefit, you must apply through the Florida Reemployment Assistance Program. The links (in blue) below provide access to the application and FAQs and additional resources to help you navigate claiming unemployment in Florida.

Human Resources Information

Employees were granted additional protections and relief by the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) including additional paid sick leave or expanded family and medical leave for specified reasons related to COVID-19 through December 31, 2020. Beginning January 1, 2021, employers with less than 500 employees will no longer be required to provide either emergency paid sick leave or expanded family leave to employees for COVID-19 related reasons pursuant to the FFCRA. The Department of Labor has created, and regularly updates, a FFCRA Questions and Answers page to provide assist both employees and employers on responsibilities and rights under the FFCRA.
